About this desk

Who publishes The Tola Desk

This page states who publishes the site, what exactly it measures, how the measurement is taken, who is responsible for it, and how the site is paid. It is written for a reader deciding whether to believe the figures on these pages.

What this desk is

The Tola Desk is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. Its only work is to take one measurement from named public sources and republish it with the date and the hour it was read. The desk does not trade metal, does not execute orders, and does not give advice of any kind. A reader who wants to act on a figure must make their own decision elsewhere.

The desk has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The only technical logs that exist are the hosting provider's standard request logs, which the publisher does not use to read a reader's personal data. What the desk states is limited to the measurement, its source, and the corrections it has made.

One rate, read not estimated

The desk publishes one measurement. A trade body publishes a suggested retail price per gram of gold, and that figure is read from the trade body's own page. Every weight below one gram is that price multiplied out, with the London metal price shown beside it. The sources are named under every table, with a link, so a reader can check the figure at its publisher. The desk does not estimate, round, or adjust the number.

The reading is taken at a stated hour, and the hour is republished with the figure. If a source is unavailable or a reading cannot be confirmed, the desk does not invent a number. A reading that cannot be verified is thrown away rather than published. The desk's only claim is that it read a named source at a stated time and repeated the figure accurately.

Editor responsibility and corrections

The editor named on these pages is Rashid Al Marri, Bullion desk editor. The editor is the person responsible for what the site states: for the choice of source, for the accuracy of the republished figure, and for the dated correction when a figure is wrong. Writing to the address on the contact page, editor@buliontradeae.com, reaches the editor directly.

Corrections are the reason the address exists. If a reader finds that a figure does not match its source, the editor checks it. A wrong figure is corrected, and the correction is dated, so that a reader can see what changed and when. The editor does not answer questions about what to buy or sell, and does not give opinions on the market.

Affiliate link to one broker

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. If a reader clicks that link and opens an account with the broker, the site is paid a commission. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This is the only way the site earns money from a reader's action. The desk does not charge for its pages, does not sell data, and does not take payment from any other source.

The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. Following the link leaves this site. The desk does not control what the broker does, does not see a reader's account, and does not recommend the broker. The affiliate relationship is disclosed here and on the terms page, plainly, because a reader deciding whether to trust these figures should know how the site is paid.
