How to write about data questions

This page explains what The Tola Desk collects, what it does not, and what a reader should know before writing to the editor about a figure, a correction, or anything seen on the site.

What this desk is

The Tola Desk is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. Its subject is one measurement, taken from named public sources and republished with the date and the hour it was read. The trade body publishes a suggested retail price per gram; every weight below is that price multiplied out, with the London metal beside it.

The desk does not invent figures, does not estimate a shop's margin, and does not guess what a counter might pay. It publishes what the named sources state, nothing more. A reader who wants to know the basis of a number will find the source named under every table, with a link, so the figure can be checked at its publisher.

What the site itself stores

The site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader's browser. A visit leaves no trace that the publisher can read back. There is no list of who came, when, or from where.

The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs. The site's publisher does not read a reader's personal data out of them. Those logs exist so the host can keep the site online, not so the desk can follow a reader around the web.

What following an outbound link means

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link, and is paid a commission if a reader opens an account there. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This must be stated plainly, in its own paragraph, on the page about the publisher and on the page about terms.

When a reader follows that link, they leave this site. The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. What the broker collects, stores, or asks for is the broker's business, not this desk's. A reader should read the broker's policy before giving any information.

How to write about data questions

Writing to the address on the contact page reaches the editor. Corrections are the reason the address exists: a figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated. The editor named on the pages is the person responsible for what the site states: Rashid Al Marri, Bullion desk editor.

Nothing on the site is investment advice, a recommendation or an offer. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. A question about a number, a source, or a correction should be sent to editor@buliontradeae.com. A question about what a reader should buy cannot be answered by this desk.
